Job Title: Scientist III
Location: Ridgefield, CT
Duration: 2 Years
Duties:
- Performs various functional genomics assays, such as bulk RNA-seq, single cell–seq on tissue, cell or nuclei suspensions. Develop/perform PCR-based assays such as qPCR, qRT-PCR;
- Operate and maintain lab equipment; initiate and complete routine procedures in an independent and efficient manner; troubleshoot effectively and solve scientific problems;
- Maintain lab supplies;
- Apply basic scientific principles;
- Effectively communicate and defend own work both orally and in writing;
- Author protocols and procedures with minimal supervision;
- Report and treat data with a high level of integrity and ethics; author/contribute to protocols, procedures, and technical reports; make scientific presentations internally and externally;
- Comply with applicable regulations; perform all work in a safe manner; maintain proper records in accordance with SOPs and policies
Skills:
- Solid understanding of next-generation sequencing (NGS) and functional genomics
- Demonstrate mastery of molecular biology methods;
- Demonstrated expertise in developing one or more of the following: in vitro cell-based assays, PCR-based assays;
- Proficient in cell culture;
- Ability to operate laboratory equipment independently;
- Experience in automation and software programing is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience working in a multi-disciplinary and collaborative environment;
- Ability to troubleshoot both individually and as part of a team;
- Excellent oral and written skills with the ability to communicate in an open, transparent, timely and consistent manner.
Education:
Master’s degree from an accredited institution with 3+ years of experience in molecular, cell biology, or related scientific discipline.
