The role purpose is to organize and oversee the operators' team to ensure the successful completion of planned productions during their shift, while adhering to established standard performance parameters. Ensure safety, quality, and environmental standards are met.


This position will be on site in South Carolina. Optimal support location for the territory is in the Orangeburg or Columbia area.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the operators and organizes the work within shift, according to the daily plan agreed;
  • Guarantees the plants operativity, ensuring the production capacity and quality standards required;
  • Manages the production and quality reports, analyses deviations and shares the results with the operators.
  • Updates the other shift leaders and the plant supervisor about the plant issues, to guarantee the sharing of the main information.
  • Requests maintenance, supports them during the intervention and supervises the respect of the safety rules and regulation as well as the quality of the service;
  • Assures the compliance with the safety and environmental procedures, as provided by the operating handbooks;
  • Shares with the Plant Supervisor both improvement in terms of plant process/machine and of work organization and goals for the department.
  • Manages operator’s training as a direct instructor: takes care of all the topics related to production and supports the operator on the job.




Qualifications

Required:

Minimum High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of proven experience in a similar position related to chemical formulation or formulation manufacturing.

  • Prior production, packaging or quality control experience desired
  • Experience as shift leader
  • HSE mindset
  • Team management
  • Good leadership and communication skills

Preferred

  • Proven manufacturing experience from a plant environment is strongly preferred
  • Similar role in formulation, fill and pack chemical company
  • Technical background
  • Basic chemical knowledge
