Job Description:

Role: Material Planner & Scheduler

Location: FARMINGTON HILLS, MICHIGAN, USA

Client: Confidential (Will be revealed upon interview)


Duties/Responsibilities:

•Material Planner Responsibilities:

•Build up the Procurement Program by dividing and leveling piece procurements

•Follow up the Procurement Program realization by managing alert systems and follow the unloading, receipt and transportation of pieces.

•Follow supplier delivery performance (supplier ship attainment) and the service of logistics partners and propose appropriate improvement action plans.

•Achieve the transportation program on a monthly basis and the transportation scheme semi-annually.

•Ensure that logistics conventions comply with purchasing objectives and support conditions set by suppliers for procurement and packaging and by logistics partners for transport and services.

Manufacturing Support:

•Track production attainment and coordinate with manufacturing on improvement plans to achieve 100% performance.

•Direct packaging management.

•Communicate production schedules to manufacturing. Present 12- or 16-week customer demand forecast.

Outbound Scheduling:

•Monitor customer EDI demands

•Coordinate, track daily shipments to customer. Communicate with customer material planner

•Coordinate level scheduling that meets customer demand while minimizing cost.

•Verify that Sales and Production Plan capacity requirements can be supported by suppliers and implement corrective actions when necessary.

•Assist with any additional tasks as assigned by the company.

Required Skills/Abilities:

•Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

•Strong sense of teamwork

•Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and multi-task

•Strong communication skills - ability to interface with other functions – and work with employees at all levels of the organization

•Knowledge and ability to interpret EDI and MRP systems.


Education and Experience:

•At least 2-3 years of production, supply chain, or logistics experience

•Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain, logistics, or equivalent experience required

•Experience collaborating and managing overseas suppliers
