Job Title: Financial Analyst

Length of assignment: 1 year with potential for extension

Location: Gastonia, NC

Schedule: Hybrid

Quick description of the role or project story (What this role will be doing):

Possible that some shifting among days would be beneficial, during accounting closeout whereby working a couple hours extra per day could be “comped” later in the week or following week

This position will work in a team environment and be involved in all aspects of finance including preparing budgets, forecasts and variance explanations.

Finance duties also include reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting financial information including investigating variances and providing explanations to management, responding to ad hoc management requests including financial analysis and recommended operational changes.

This position works closely as an advisory to our business partners and helps to act as a steward of company funds for our customers and shareholders.

This position will also perform other financial responsibilities as assigned by the management team in support of the Company’s long-term goals.

This position will assist in responding to internal and external inquiries and data requests related to regulatory filings and other matters.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Develops and leads financial analysis.

Supports budget development and consolidation process.

Leads the development, maintenance and analysis of financial plans, budgets and forecasts

Communicate effectively with operational areas to understand the impact of variance on financial results.

Ensures compliance with regulations, policies & procedures; act as a liaison with various departments (General Accounting, Tax, Corporate Planning, F&BS, Operations, and Regulatory Conducts economic analyses and presentation preparation in support of investment decisions.

Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

“Must have” skill sets (technical/functional) which are required

Experience with financial management and analysis, utility and/or relevant industry, accounting standards and practices.

Demonstrated expertise in consolidated financial planning and analysis, capital allocation, project financial analysis, due diligence process, understanding of accounting, tax and financing principles.

Extensive knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
