Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst


Location: North Fort Worth, Texas (Onsite with potential for hybrid schedule after six months)

Employment Type: Long-term Contract | Full-time (40 hours per week)

Compensation: $50-$53/hour (W2)


Company Overview

CornerStone TTS is seeking a dedicated QA Analyst to join our software development team. Comprising 19 professionals, our team is focused on implementing and testing software for a real-time, messaging-centric safety system. Our projects include developing and testing server and client .NET applications, ASP.NET websites, and embedded Linux software.


Position Overview

Under the guidance of the QA Manager, the QA Analyst will enhance software quality by:

  • Designing and executing tests
  • Troubleshooting software and hardware issues
  • Monitoring and maintaining lab infrastructure
  • Managing software configurations
  • Supporting testing environments (QA, labs, production)
  • Documenting processes and outcomes


The role primarily involves manual testing at the user interface level. The hybrid development cycle requires collaboration for defining requirements and designing test cases. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, technically complex environment.

Work is predominantly onsite to manage and test lab equipment. A limited hybrid schedule (one day per week remote) may be available after a six-month ramp-up period, contingent on demonstrated competence. Overtime is rarely required.


Key Responsibilities

  • Follow safety policies and procedures
  • Lift and carry up to 30 lbs. without assistance
  • Distinguish colors (red, blue, green, yellow, lunar)
  • Utilize hand tools for tasks involving holding, grasping, turning, and pulling
  • Perform activities requiring bending, walking, standing, and sitting


Technical Qualifications

Minimum Experience:

  • 7+ years of progressive software testing experience, including test strategy and case development
  • 5+ years of experience testing and writing manual test cases for desktop applications and websites


Skills and Tools:

  • Proficiency with Azure DevOps pipelines, test plans, test suites, and defect management
  • Ability to troubleshoot software and hardware, including log analysis for errors and message flows
  • Knowledge of configuration management activities and terminology (e.g., trunk/main, branches)
  • Advanced MS Word and Excel skills
  • 1-2 years of SQL experience

  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • A collaborative mindset, assisting and seeking help from team members as needed
  • Ability to work effectively in a medium-documentation, high-productivity team
  • Self-starter capable of planning and executing tests by engaging stakeholders and understanding user stories
  • Aptitude for suggesting and implementing QA process improvements


Documentation:

  • Experience in writing and reviewing technical documentation


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SPLUNK
  • Familiarity with SharePoint
  • Linux experience
  • Automation experience (UFT)
  • Railroad industry experience


Educational Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is preferred. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
