Job Description: Industrial Maintenance Supervisor

Overview: As an Industrial Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating the maintenance activities within our industrial facility. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all machinery and equipment are properly maintained to minimize downtime and optimize productivity. You will lead a team of maintenance technicians, guiding their work, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols and maintenance schedules. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a proactive approach to maintenance management.

2nd shift, 5:30-2:30

Responsibilities:

  1. Supervision and Leadership:
  • Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and ensure workload distribution is balanced among team members.
  • Foster a culture of safety, professionalism, and teamwork among maintenance staff.
  1. Maintenance Planning and Scheduling:
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure timely inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Coordinate with production and operations teams to schedule maintenance activities that minimize disruptions to production schedules.
  • Utilize maintenance management software or tools to track work orders, prioritize tasks, and maintain records of maintenance activities.
  1. Technical Expertise:
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with industrial equipment and machinery.
  • Oversee repairs and installations to ensure they comply with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in industrial maintenance.
  1. Safety and Compliance:
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards in the workplace.
  • Investigate and report any accidents or near misses, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  1. Budget Management:
  • Assist in developing and managing the maintenance department budget, including forecasting expenses and justifying expenditures.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements without compromising on quality or safety.
  1. Training and Development:
  • Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for maintenance team members.
  • Foster a learning environment that encourages continuous improvement and skill enhancement.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years experience preferred in an Industrial/Manufacturing Maintenance role
  • Proven experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of industrial equipment, including mechanical systems, electrical systems, PLCs, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management software (CMMS) and computer proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Maintenance Management (CMRP) or similar credentials.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations related to industrial operations.

Work Environment:

  • Fast-paced industrial setting with exposure to noise, temperature variations, and occasional heavy lifting.
  • Regular interaction with production and operations teams, maintenance staff, and external vendors or contractors.
