Senior Cloud Operations Engineer Location: Malvern, PA (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite per week) Salary: $140,000 – $185,000 (based on experience) Employment Type: Full-Time, PermanentAbout the RoleThis position reports to the SVP of Product Architecture and is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing an Azure-based SaaS platform. You’ll work closely with engineering and product teams to ensure the platform is performant, reliable, resilient, and scalable. The role combines hands-on cloud operations with a strong focus on automation, infrastructure-as-code, and continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor production systems for availability, performance, and reliability; implement logging and alerting.Manage Azure services: App Services, Function Apps, Container Apps, Azure SQL, Microsoft Entra ID, Application Gateway, Firewalls.Plan, build, and maintain real-time connections to customer data centers using VPN tunnels, VWAN, and Firewalls.Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates) for consistent deployments.Identify and resolve capacity, scaling, and performance bottlenecks.Design and support high availability, disaster recovery, and scaling strategies.Collaborate with development teams to ensure applications are production-ready.Execute recurring tasks: database setup, VPN configurations, IP whitelisting, SSL certificates, secret rotations.Manage SaaS platform operating costs and optimize for efficiency without sacrificing reliability.Skills & ExperienceBA/BS Degree5+ years of hands-on experience with Azure (App Services, Function Apps, Container Apps, Azure SQL, Microsoft Entra ID, Application Gateway, Firewalls)Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates)Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics)Strong grasp of scaling, high availability, and performance tuning in cloud environmentsFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
