Role Description

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven originations professional to join our growing private equity platform. This key role will be responsible for building and managing the origination platform from the ground up, and will be responsible for sourcing and developing new investment opportunities, building/managing relationships with intermediaries, tracking origination and outreach activity, and contributing to the firm's overall growth strategy.


This position presents an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to play a crucial part in driving the growth and success of our platform, and has the potential for a long-term leadership role. Depending on relevant experience and fit, this position could range from a Senior Associate up to the Vice President level.


Key Responsibilities

Deal Sourcing and Origination

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive origination strategy aligned with the firm's investment criteria
  • Build and maintain a robust network of industry contacts to source both intermediary-led and proprietary investment opportunities
  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize potential target companies
  • Collaborate with the investment team to conduct initial deal screening and triage


Overall Business Development

  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including intermediaries, business owners, C-level executives, and industry professionals
  • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking functions
  • Lead the firm's marketing and branding initiatives to enhance market presence
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand the firm's network and deal flow sources


Data and Intelligence

  • Oversee the ongoing management of the firm's CRM system
  • Track and analyze intermediary and deal flow activity levels
  • Produce regular reports on pipeline statistics and key performance indicators
  • Leverage data to optimize outreach and origination activities across the team
  • Conduct market research to identify industry trends and inform origination strategies


Qualifications

  • Prior private equity business development experience, preferably in the middle market
  • Bachelor's degree in with a strong GPA
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Knowledge of the middle market deal landscape, including relevant investment banks and brokers
  • Ability to travel frequently as needed to execute on this mandate
