Lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist

This is a regular, onsite full-time position in our New Haven, Connecticut facility.
Are you ready to take on an exciting leadership role in molecular neuroimaging research? The newly established XingImaging US research facility in New Haven, CT, is looking for a Lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our expanding research team. At XingImaging, we are dedicated to advancing neurodegenerative research and imaging with cutting-edge technology, and we seek a highly skilled and motivated individual to lead our on-site imaging initiatives.
As the Lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be a key contributor in our research imaging suite. Working closely with our leadership team, clinical staff, chemistry staff, partners, and vendors, you will help establish an optimal research imaging environment. Your responsibilities will include selecting equipment and supplies and performing scans with our state-of-the-art scanners. This position provides a unique opportunity to design and customize a nuclear medicine work environment and team from the ground up.

MITRO Biotech Co., Ltd. is a molecular imaging contract research organization (MI-CRO) company in China. MITRO provides outstanding contract research for new drug development using radiolabeling and molecular imaging techniques. MITRO provides integrated solutions, including evaluation of potential therapeutics, biodistribution, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. MITRO provides translational research using a wide range of non-clinical through Phase 0 clinical trial services. MITRO’s focus includes but is not limited to: Parkinson disease, Alzheimer's disease, cancer, coronary heart disease, epilepsy, rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, gene expression, and stem cell research.
MITRO Biotech Co., Ltd.’s acquisition of XingImaging, LLC in September 2023 brought with it an active expansion to offer early through late phase PET clinical imaging and clinical services to industry sponsors and researchers for advancement of new imaging tracers for evaluation of diagnostic indicators, disease progression, and therapeutic medicines.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with leadership, clinical staff, chemistry staff, vendors, and partners to establish research and imaging work environments. Including selecting equipment, supplies, and resources.
• Perform SPECT and PET/CT procedures on research participants
• Utilize ionizing radiation to generate images for research purposes
• Administer research participants injections with radiopharmaceuticals intravenously
• Venipuncture and IV placement including obtaining blood samples as needed
• Properly store and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals
• Perform quality control tests including weekly wipes and daily surveys.
• Perform quality control tests of incoming and outgoing radiopharmaceuticals.
• Maintains a role on the company’s radiation safety committee
• Maintain a flexible work schedule (intermittent evening and weekend work may be required)
• Help design and improve research imaging suite and workflows
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Completion of an accredited School of Nuclear Medicine Technology Program
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience, 5+ years of related experience
• Registration with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and/or Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (CT) or NMTCB (CT)
• Current CNMT, CT (ARRT or NMTCB) Certification
• CT Certification required
• Active Connecticut State licenses in Nuclear Medicine
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Proven track record of producing high-quality research imaging with minimal supervision
• Experience in performing SPECT and PET/CT studies, preferably in an research setting
• Solid understanding of clinical research, GCP, GDP, and other regulations
• Strong leadership, management, and training skills
• Ability to perform instrumentation and quality control, with knowledge of radiation safety
• Effective communication skills to collaborate within multi-disciplinary team settings
• Self-motivated, results-oriented, and detail-oriented
Preferred but not required:
• Experience working with patients affected by neurological disorders, such as Parkinson’s Disease and Alzheimer’s Disease.
• Experience working with Investigational New Drug (IND) PET research agents
Unique Department Requirements:
• Exposure to ionizing radiation
• Biohazard exposure to human blood and bodily fluids
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs (for heavy equipment and patient positioning)
• Intermittent evening and weekend work may be required
• Travel to meetings may be required
