Job Description

Under the direction of EITS leadership, the Revenue Cycle Epic Analyst Level 3 is responsible for the on-going assessment, design, and development and implementation of corporate -wide clinical/revenue cycle systems. Specifically, manage and direct the collection and transformation of large quantities of information into meaningful business requirements; development and modifications of requirements documentation for the design and implementation of clinical/revenue cycle information systems; critically evaluate information from various sources, distinguish user needs from actual business needs and partner with business users, project managers, programmers, consultants and IT leadership in optimizing the scope, benefits and risks of actual and proposed projects as well as assist in managing stakeholder expectations. Analyst level 3’s are responsible for training and mentoring lower level analysts, and taking on more complex issues, optimizations, and tickets. Level 3 analysts lead and coordinate meetings, and will act as a back up to the Assistant Director as needed.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Analyze and document business requirements and processes; communicate requirements to technical personnel through the construction of basic conceptual data, process models and flowcharts, and technical specifications
  • Develop status reports for submission to leadership
  • Provide technical and analytic expertise for the development of the Revenue Cycle System
  • Responsible for the daily monitoring and issue resolution of any system related issues reported by end users; will require daily usage of the ESD Service Now application; mentor lower level analysts in completing incidents and optimization requests. Take the lead on optimization projects and complex incidents.
  • Interview end users, stakeholders, and project sponsors in order to assess business needs; create business, functional and technical requirements documents based on captured data and in accordance with departmental protocol/standards
  • Define external interfaces, constraints, quality issues and other non-functional requirements.
  • Ensure that all quality standards comply with internal policies and industry standards.
  • Document changes to baseline requirements through standard change control process.
  • Develop software test plans, technical requirements, release notes, user and training guidelines and other materials.
  • Coordinate, and support unit acceptance testing and subsequent deployments in coordination with other team leaders.
  • Perform end user and application support functions including problem solving and resolution of application function defects
  • Lead in special projects as required.
  • Implement opportunities for process improvements and provide analysis and propose change and communicate strategies.
  • Due to the responsibilities of your position, you may be required to work beyond your regularly scheduled hours;
  • Due to the responsibilities of your position, you will be required to travel to H+H facilities when required for meetings and work-related issues.
  • Create statistical reporting based on end user needs within the Epic module assigned.
  • Ability to complete demonstrations, develop effective presentations, deliver in a professional manner, and mentor lower level analysts for success
  • Epic certification/proficiency must be maintained and up to date including CEE's and NVT trainings to retain employment

Certification(S)/NYS Licenses/Education:

  • Epic Grand Central Certification in assigned module required
  • Epic Prelude Certification Preferred


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and other Requirements:

  • Healthcare required
  • Revenue Cycle required
  • At least 3 full life-cycle implementations or major system upgrades is required


Years of Experience:

  • 2+ years minimum experience with Epic EMR is preferred
