Job Summary:


As a Junior Buyer , you will play a crucial role in the procurement process, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services essential for refinery operations. You will support the Procurement Manager and work closely with various departments to meet the refinery's supply chain needs, maintaining high standards of quality, compliance, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:


Procurement Process:

  • Assist in the procurement of goods and services required for refinery operations, including raw materials, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve any delivery issues with suppliers.

Supplier Management:

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, negotiating terms, prices, and contracts to achieve the best value for the refinery.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and assist in the selection and qualification of new suppliers.
  • Resolve supplier-related issues and disputes promptly and effectively.

Inventory Management:

  • Collaborate with the warehouse and inventory management teams to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize excess inventory.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely replenishment of critical items.
  • Assist in conducting regular inventory audits and reconciliation.

Cost Control and Budgeting:

  • Assist in monitoring and controlling procurement costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Support the preparation of procurement budgets and forecasts, providing relevant data and analysis.

Compliance and Documentation:

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements in all procurement activities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier information.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation for audits and internal reviews.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes and systems.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and new technologies to support procurement strategies.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or a related role, preferably in the oil and gas or refining industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with procurement software or ERP systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
