Assistant Designer

Design Assistant will play a critical role in coordinating style development from conception to production hand-off. They will assist the design department with various tasks. The design assistant will maintain and enhance our established brand integrity, throughout the design and development processes.
Duties:
Assist with checking, printing, organizing line sheets for photo shoots, meetings, shipping, and updating line sheet books.
Assist with style out for each division and season, cataloging and photographing styles chosen
Assist in cataloging the trim books for each season
Assist with ordering and tracking, send outs, and development and layout of trims
Assist with special projects, workload, cut tickets, and distribution when needed
Mange and organize all design departments’ closets
Assist in overseas full packages and getting them out in a timely manner, follow up, and tracking them daily, checking in SMS’s when they return.
Manage all aspects of SMS process from cut, sew, garment dye and shipping to showrooms.
Checking SMS as they are completed before shipping
Communicating with all showrooms and vendors regarding shipment dates
Attend and assist with fittings and fit meetings both on- and off-site
Review, spec and comment on TOP samples
Hand design sketch for domestic and overseas groups
Run high-low reports of selling
Coordinate and present hand-off meetings seasonally
Run errands to photo shoot when necessary.
Attend vendor meetings for new developments, trims, fabric and prints
Ordering test and salesmen sample fabrics and trims
Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications:
Design degree or Bachelor’s degree in apparel, fashion, or a related field; or equivalent experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Proficiency with Mac applications
Organized and extreme attention to detail
Ability to meet deadlines under pressure
Strong communication skills
This is a full-time position; associate must be able to work 40 hours a week
