SUMMARY: Experienced individual in the manufacturing and handling of agricultural inputs, including microbial products from fermentation to finished product of biologicals and biological formulations and fertilizer products. Responsible for directing and overseeing the Company’s operations’ (manufacturing, supply chain, inventory and facilities) processes. Oversees specialized operational processes, quality assurance, and quality control programs. Provides leadership, coordination, and technical guidance to support and realize Company’s objectives. Daily supervision of associated departments. Comfortable working in an environment where a wide degree of creativity and day to day latitude is expected. Reports to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·        Works with COO and senior management to define and implement an operations strategy to support company’s objectives.

·        Develops and achieves goals with their direct reports to support company objectives.

·        Initiates and supports innovative ways to procure, manufacture and deliver company’s products.

·        Analyzes machine and labor capacity to maximize productivity.

·        Oversees planning and scheduling of manufacturing and shipping activities.

·        Maintains production records (electronically or in other form).

·        Evaluates employee performance.

·        Interacts with all support staff/departments to ensure operating efficiencies.

·        Identifies areas for operational improvement and acts on those improvements.

·        Develops and implements concepts for preventive maintenance.

·        Works closely with other departments such as Sales, R&D, Finance, HR, and Admin to assure strong relationships and maintain effective communication.

·        Responsible for implementation and execution of quality systems to ensure compliance with customer requirements and regulatory standards.

·        Leads and supports company’s product cost improvement initiatives.

·        Oversees Operation portion of MRP portion of an ERP system.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

·        Five plus years of experience as a Manufacturing/Operations Manager

·        Bachelor’s degree in related field

·        Must have demonstrated experience in managing operations of high value, proprietary biologically based products.

·        Demonstrated proficiency in budget management and cost control.

·        Strong management and interpersonal skills.

·        Solid track record in meeting objectives and driving improvement.

·        Ability to work under pressure.

·        Good strategic and organizational skills.

·        Maintain and promote a safe and sanitary work environment.

·        Thorough understanding of MRP systems.

·        Prioritizing both long-term and short-term goals.

·        Certified to operate a forklift.

 

WORKING CONDITION:

Light industrial manufacturing facility and office environment. Work as a team member, manage multiple priorities.

 

COMPENSATION:

Salary: Dependent on Experience

Eligible for performance-based annual bonus compensation 

Full Time Employment (FTE)

Eligible for all applicable regular FTE benefit programs (401k, medical/dental/vision insurance, PTO)
