Position:
Electrical Project Engineer.
Purpose:
The role carries a high level of responsibility for achieving the business objectives to design and project manage quality products, on time and to budget. Ensure efficient workflow throughout the engineering department.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Interpretation of customer requirements and ability to deliver projects on-time to budget.
- Manage projects from conception, through internal production to delivery.
- Create drawings using AutoCAD and/or Solid Works to customer specification.
- Producing engineering reports, manufacturing/fabrication packages, submittal packages, operation & maintenance manuals, and other documents in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure manufacturing is in accordance with the Company Quality, Environmental, H&S and Engineering standards, and on schedule.
- Cost effective buying and negotiation with suppliers and sub-contractors.
- Produce B.O.M’s and Monitor stock levels.
- Continuous improvement ideas, R&D, engineering, and manufacturing improvements.
- Ensure production staff work safely and the production area is a safe working environment.
- Participate in research and development projects.
- Develop open and constructive working relationships with all colleagues.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Proactive with strong problem-solving skills and able to exhibit good engineering judgement at all times.
- Engineering qualification (HNC / HND / Degree)
- Strong verbal, written and numerical skills.
- Good organizational skills
- Persistence and ability to achieve results under pressure.
- Excellent understanding of engineering and manufacturing drawings and production processes.
- Knowledge of fabrication, welding and machining.
- Knowledge in geometric tolerance and different industrial standards ANSI, DIN etc.
- Hands on experience in Solid Works, to a high level.
- General electrical understanding.
