Junior Art Director

Wripple is looking for a talented Junior Art Director for our global telecommunications client in Dallas, Texas. This is a hybrid onsite, 40-hour/week, 12-month contract with possibility of extension. The retail junior art director is responsible for design leadership and art direction for retail print. This person collaborates with copywriters, client partners, and project managers to align work with the brand and project brief.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leads marketing-assets design as prescribed by project briefs.
  • Brings insight to build streamlined processes and optimize studio ways of working.
  • Executes work on demand.
  • Researches and recommends imagery (e.g., photography, illustration) to support creative strategy and execution.
  • Collaborates with fellow creatives to artfully solve specific project objectives.
  • Builds extensive knowledge of brand guidelines and aligns projects accordingly.
  • Meets or exceeds overall design objectives for final development and production of creative assets, also ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates agility with changing priorities, deadlines, and directions.
  • Adopts and understands processes supporting creative needs, questions, and duties.
  • Supports the creative director and creative team to deliver on-brand media.
  • Shares ideas and insights on market trends, competitive marketing, and innovations.
  • Adapts problems in seasonal toolkits and maintains same standards across projects.
  • Works independently without micro-direction and is reliably accurate.
  • Supports other art directors while they are out of office.


Core competencies & Requirements:

  • 3+ years' experience required - One to two as a Senior Graphic Designer or Art Director. Retail focus a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership on projects or with people.
  • External-agency experience desired; in-house agency experience preferred.
  • Portfolio showcasing polished design skills in a variety of mediums with a focus on digital and print.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma
  • Skilled in creative conceptualization
  • Organized self-starter
  • Strong presenter and communicator able to express opinions clearly and persuasively.
  • Detail-oriented delivering focused work on time, on budget, and on strategy.
  • Understands design applications used in print media.
  • Knowledgeable in file preparation for printer release
  • Solutions-oriented and problem solves with moderate input.
  • Able to give constructive feedback to help team members and projects succeed.
  • Experience with project management systems (Workfront a plus).


This is a full-time, contract role (40 hrs/week) for 12-months with strong potential to extend beyond. Can be remote, but preference for candidates located in Dallas, TX. Working hours are 9am - 6pm CST, even if working remotely. If located within Dallas, TX, should be comfortable coming onsite ~2 days/week. Selected candidate will have a criminal background & drug test.
