Job Summary:

The Nursing Professional Development Consultant is a registered nurse with expertise in nursing education who influences professional role competence and professional growth of nurses in a variety of settings.

The Essential Responsibilities of a Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Consultant at Kaiser Permanente include:

1. Professional Development: Design and deliver high-quality, evidence-based educational programs for staff members, aligning with organizational strategies and goals.
2. Program Management: Develop and implement an orientation, training, and competency assessment program for new and existing employees, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and professional organization recommendations.
3. Leader/Change Agent: Analyze change initiatives, identify performance/systems issues versus development needs, and communicate effectively with others. Demonstrate leadership skills and maintain knowledge of change management theories and regulatory standards.
4. Consultant: Serve as a resource to individuals and groups, identifying issues and potential internal and external solutions. Participate in research reviews and incorporate evidence-based learning into educational activities.
5. Mentor: Model professionalism and integrity, mentor peers and colleagues, and act as a role model for ongoing professional development.
6. Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as requested.
