Company Description


The Medical Center of Southeast Texas was opened in 2005 and was recently sold to HSA Port Arthur following Steward Healthcare BK Ch 11 proceedings. The previous owner was very centralized. HSA deploys a local control and accountability approach. The hospital has a history of loyal employees and a community anxious for it to return to operational efficiency and sustainability.


Role Description


This is a full-time on-site role for a CFO who will rebuild the accounting team, oversee all departments touching revenue cycle management, reporting, and strategic planning, ensuring financial health and compliance for the organization. Other departments previously centralized that will require attention include Payroll, IT, Patient Accounting, Managed Care Contacting, and to a lesser extent Supply Chain, HIM, and Case Management/UR.


Qualifications


  • Proven experience as a CFO in an acute care hospital is a must
  • Working knowledge of CMS and Medicaid Cost Reporting is required
  • Familiarity with restructuring and or turnarounds is preferred but not required
  • Strong understanding of financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Excellent knowledge of financial regulations and compliance
  • Advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Outstanding leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to make strategic decisions and drive financial initiatives
  • Experience in taxpaying hospitals is a plus
