Civil Designer

Insight Global is currently seeking a qualified candidate to provide design and drafting support for engineering and survey projects within our clients engineering group. The position will work primarily in Autodesk’s AutoCAD Civil 3D with some interaction with AutoCAD Plant 3D to design and draft drawings for natural gas pipelines and pipeline facilities. AutoCAD Plant 3D is used to develop facility P&ID drawings, three-dimensional pipe layouts, isometric one-line drawings, and orthographic detail drawings. The position will work closely with the engineers, surveyors, GIS, and permitting staff, and report directly to the Engineering Manager.

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years’ experience in a civil engineering drafter/designer role
• Proficiency in civil engineering oriented CADD software, preferably AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Basic skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)

Responsibilities:

• Prepare pipeline alignment drawings in AutoCAD Civil 3D; may also include profiles, surfaces
• Prepare grading plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Prepare survey plot plans, maps, and P&IDs and exhibits in AutoCAD Civil 3D

Compensation:

This position is paying between $28-$35/hour based on years of experience.
