Company Description

Almayeva Ballet Academy (formerly Marina Almayeva School of Classical Ballet) is small, yet serious ballet school established in 2007 in Hurst, Texas (Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area). The Academy has been training students of all ages under Vaganova curriculum and has long and successful history of participating in prestigious ballet competitions, such as YAGP and others. Marina Almayeva, a former professional ballerina educated in Russia, is the Artistic Director and owner of the school.

Role Description

This is a part-time on-site role for a Ballet Instructor at Almayeva Ballet Academy located in Hurst, TX. The Ballet Instructor will be responsible for teaching dance techniques and choreography to students of various ages and skill levels, creating lesson plans (subject to approval by the Artistic Director), conducting ballet and dance classes, providing feedback and guidance to students, and assisting the Artistic Director in preparation for performances and competitions.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in teaching classical ballet (Vaganova style)
• Proficiency in teaching jazz, contemporary/modern or lyrical dance classes is a definite plus
• Previous experience in teaching/choreographing dance routines for competitions/performances
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well with students of all ages and skill levels
• Knowledge of dance theory, terminology, and technique
• Ability to effectively demonstrate proper ballet and dance moves and correct student posture and technique
• Ability to adapt personal teaching style to the objectives and the vision of the Artistic Director

Compensation

The compensation is commensurate with experience.
