In this role you will apply your artistic graphic design abilities to communicate ideas that engage the military community audience. Your experience should include designing website content, digital advertising, social media, as well as print advertising and collateral. You should have a background in producing a wide variety of design and illustration concepts for corporate advertising, marketing, and branding. Your portfolio should inspire engagement with an excellent eye for composition of both design and messaging.

You must have a Bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related field to qualify. Agency or financial industry experience is a plus. Must be comfortable using all industry-standard software.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with creative, product, and marketing teams to assess project needs and apply appropriate creative design solutions
  • Create and design various materials for print and digital collateral
  • Ensure projects are completed with high quality and on schedule
  • Evolve visual creative brand guidelines for the Association
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects within design specifications
  • Perform retouching and manipulation of images
  • Work with a wide range of media and use graphic design software
  • Stay current on trends and competitors within the graphic design sphere
  • See projects through the whole creative lifestyle, from inception to deployment
  • Work with the Content Strategist and other marketing team members to create collaborative outcomes


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic arts, design, communications, or related field
  • 3-5 years’ experience in graphic design, both agency and in-house corporate experience a plus
  • Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, photography, video, social and web
  • Strong knowledge of and skills in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and other graphic design software
  • Portfolio of work demonstrating a wide range of creative projects and media
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent eye for detail, including the ability to make corrections to obvious errors, including in copy
  • Strong creative thinking skills and ability to think conceptually
  • Comfortable working both as part of a team and independently with little direction, under tight deadlines
  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently
  • Strong time-management skills
  • Practical familiarity and/or experience in photography and video production including storyboarding, editing, and using associated hardware and software is a plus
  • Experience in coordinating directly with printers and other vendors to ensure projects are delivered with proper job specs and that high-quality, accurate work is produced.
  • Solid organizational skills for electronic file storage and discovery.
  • A strong understanding of the nuanced narratives conveyed in photography, along with the ability to select and manipulate the best images for any given project.
  • Enjoy working collaboratively, applying inspired thinking about what could be and how to achieve that.
