Director Power Quant/Structuring

Firm: We are partnering with a prestigious trading house who are building out their US Power division.


Context: Senior individuals joined over a year ago to help build out Power business. Goal in the first year was to set up trade systems, financial markets trading and get everyone comfortable. Currently in good shape.


Next move is to move into origination deals (i.e. wholesale, HRCO, tolling deals, load serving deals and looking at physical assets – renewable type deals, valuations of assets) and need a good analytics/modeling platform behind this for deal structuring.


Responsibilities: Senior individual to come in and lay out a plan/direction. Someone who can own that part of the business, as well as grow a team and build the pricing libraries (Python, C++) and modeling platform from scratch to help with the deals (HRCO, tolling deals, load serving, valuation of assets). Interact with the desk to explain the risks and hedging strategies and model those risks.


Requirements:

  • Senior-level Quant & Structurer (Director level and above)
  • Understand risk of transactions and can explain risks/biggest benefits to trade desks
  • Understanding different types of transactions, deal flows and experience working with originators/traders
  • Power modeling & fundamentals (open to ISO- ERCOT helpful)
  • Experience building pricing libraries from scratch (Python, C++, C#) and owning the platform


Location: Houston TX or NYC - 5 days in office
