Role Overview

As an Interior Designer, you will collaborate with our creative team to develop innovative design concepts and execute them to the highest standard. This role requires a mix of creative vision, technical expertise, and project management skills.


📍 Key Responsibilities:


Design

  • Create, develop, and execute detailed design concepts that are impactful and tailored to each unique project.
  • Review and analyze surveys, as-built blueprints, and records to understand project requirements.
  • Manage multiple residential design projects of varying stages of completion from concept to construction within schedule and budget.
  • Create functional interior & exterior wall layouts and space plans with millwork and furniture placement in Revit.
  • Create renderings and/or create briefs for the CGI team to visualize the proposed designs. Prepare design presentations.
  • Source, select, and specify all interior details: materials, color selections, furniture, lighting, fixtures, and appliances within project budget, parameters, and aesthetic. Work with the procurement team to obtain samples, availability, and pricing.
  • Coordinate with relevant engineers and create the technical documentation set required to execute the project.
  • Facilitate training and onboarding of new staff members and the ongoing development of other designers through supportive mentorship.
  • Establish trusting relationships with clients through successful management of expectations and requests, consistent communication, and captivating deliverables and presentations.
  • Coordinate and monitor the progress of work amongst junior designers.


Project Administration

  • Coordinate vendor and installer site visits, workroom visits, and in-person meetings to ensure successful project deliverables.
  • Keep project tasks up to date and on schedule, follow through on open items, and maintain accurate to-do lists and tasks.
  • Collaborate to establish the project schedule and team schedule.
  • Contribute to the studio’s marketing and PR initiatives, taking ownership over specific projects working with the Directors and Principals to keep initiatives moving forward and on schedule.
  • Assist with photoshoot coordination, sourcing, styling and onsite facilitation as delegated by Principal Designer.


📍 Main Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in high-end residential design.
  • Portfolio demonstrating exceptional design skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Revit and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Understanding of materials, finishes, and custom fabrication processes.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with internal colleagues, and external clients, consultants, and suppliers.
  • Ability to grasp and adapt to different styles and work according to the brief and mood board.
  • Experience overseeing project execution and technical understanding of best practices for joinery, material seams, etc.
