AMO Physicist

Rydberg Technologies is seeking a Physicist or Applied Physicist with a background in AMO physics and engineering to join our quantum R&D team for the development and fabrication of next-generation quantum technologies and devices including Rydberg atom-based electromagnetic field sensing and measurement, communications, and metrology. Responsibilities in this hands-on role include development and engineering of quantum devices, experimental research and development of quantum RF sensing methods and devices, technology/product testing and measurement. We seek high-caliber candidates who are solution-oriented, organized, self-motivated, have an interest in top-level project planning, give attention to the finest project details, and have the ability to both work autonomously and in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.

Technical skills and experience: Atomic, optical, and quantum physics engineering, experiment and theory, precision spectroscopy, optics, lasers, CW and pulsed lasers, optical frequency combs, stabilization, clocks, analog and digital electronics, advanced programming (LabView, C/C++, python) and signal processing, proficiency in engineering design (Solidworks) and simulation software (COMSOL).

Other technical skills: Rydberg-atom spectroscopy, electromagnetically-induced transparency (EIT) in vapor cells, vapor-cell technology, RF/microwave/THz measurement and engineering, chip-scale and low-noise opto-electronics.

Qualifications: PhD in atomic, optical, quantum physics, applied physics and engineering, or similar; US citizens or green card holders may be given priority due to export controls.
