Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Packaging Engineer 1 in Champaign, IL. The work will be done onsite. This is a long term, multiple years contract. Job Description: We are seeking a Junior Engineer to join our dynamic team focused on packaging optimization within our supply chain and operations division. This role is critical for analyzing and enhancing our packaging processes to improve efficiency and reduce operational delays.

Responsibilities:

  • Regularly review and analyze operational delays related to packaging, identifying bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
  • Develop quantitative evaluations of opportunities to optimize packaging processes.
  • Collaborate closely with teams across supply chain, operations, quality, engineering, and purchasing to implement improvements.
  • Contribute to key projects that aim to align packaging standards and practices across the organization.

Position’s Contributions to Work Group:

  • You will play a crucial role in the MPN packaging alignment project, aimed at standardizing packaging processes and reducing material waste.

Team Culture and Work Environment:

  • This role is part of a collaborative and supportive team that values innovative thinking and proactive problem-solving.
  • The work environment is split between warehouse (35%) and office (65%), with necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) required in the warehouse setting.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Experience: 0-2 years of experience in an engineering role, preferably with some exposure to packaging or manufacturing processes.
  • Technical Skills: Strong project organization and analytical skills.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication abilities, both oral and written; strong organizational skills.
