Position Summary:

The FP&A Specialist will play a critical role in supporting the financial health and growth of our multifamily affordable housing and ground-up development projects. This position is responsible for designing and developing corporate reporting solutions and circulating financial and other key performance reporting on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis. In addition this position is responsible for data extraction, monthly and quarterly analysis, producing key performance indicator metrics, and ad hoc financial requests. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, experience in real estate finance, and a passion for affordable housing.


Responsibilities

Financial Reporting:

·        Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for stabilized multifamily affordable housing projects and ground-up development initiatives.

·        Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, define requirements, and deliver data-driven solutions that support strategic objectives.

·        Identify opportunities to streamline data collection processes, improve data accuracy, and enhance overall data governance practices.

·        Improve upon weekly, monthly, and yearly cashflows forecasting.

·        Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data in reports.

·        Develop and maintain dashboards and other reporting tools to monitor financial performance.


Data Extraction and Analysis:

·        Extract financial and operational data from various internal and external sources.

·        Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.

·        Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by providing detailed financial analysis.


Ad Hoc Financial Requests:

·        Respond to ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests from senior management and other departments.

·        Conduct special financial studies as requested to support business decisions.


Collaboration and Communication:


·        Work closely with the finance team, project managers, development, asset management, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for financial analysis.

·        Communicate financial insights and recommendations to senior management in a clear and concise manner.


Continuous Improvement:

·        Identify opportunities to streamline financial reporting processes and improve data accuracy.

·        Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in financial planning and analysis.


Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Science, or a related field.

·        Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in the real estate industry.

·        Strong understanding of real estate finance, particularly in multifamily affordable housing and ground-up development.

·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data findings in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

·        High level of attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting

·        Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting tools (e.g., Excel) as a plus, experience in other reporting tools (e.g., Hyperion, Adaptive Insights, Tableau).

·        Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

·        Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

·        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into actionable insights.

·        Experience with financial software and ERP systems (e.g., Yardi, MRI) is a plus.
