Purpose:
The Assistant Branch Manager is pivotal in delivering exceptional member services and ensuring the efficient operation of the branch. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities including overseeing branch schedules, managing negative accounts, maintaining budgets, and facilitating staff development. In the absence of the Branch Manager, the Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for directing overall branch activities.
Expectations:
- Provide friendly, professional, and personalized service to all members.
- Maintain member confidentiality.
- Engage employees and foster a positive work environment.
- Uphold a professional work environment and businesslike appearance.
- Ensure a high level of accuracy in processing member transactions.
- Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
- Adhere to all security procedures and policies.
- Follow all operational procedures and policies regarding member transactions and information.
- Participate actively in training programs.
- Exhibit courtesy, tact, and diplomacy in all interactions.
Primary Responsibilities:

Branch Operations
- Ensure proper branch staffing.
- Answer phones and assist with member needs.
- Provide backup support for staff as needed.
- Process and verify wire transfers.
- Provide notary services.
- Market potential membership opportunities.
- Maintain electronic signage.
- Assist in marketing new SEG’s and maintaining existing SEG’s
- Conduct weekly staff meetings with the Branch Manager.
- Print and review financial reports.
- Plan daily goals, assign tasks, and uphold member service standards.
Position Title Provides Backup for Senior Report
Assistant Branch Manager I Branch Manager & Lenders Branch Manager
Employment Status FLSA Status Lunch Requirements
Full Time- 40 hours Weekly Non-Exempt 30mins to 1 Hour
- Train staff and assist with performance reviews.
- Monitor and analyze branch reports.
- Serve as a backup to the Branch Manager and assist in coaching and developing staff for career advancement opportunities.
- Meet goals as specified in the branch scorecard and adapt to changes as needed.
- Review timesheets and manage overtime.
- Assist the Head Teller with proper closing procedures on the teller line.
- Participate in monthly branch meetings.
Lending/Accounts
- Assist Managers and Lenders should be the primary lenders of the branch
- Address member inquiries regarding their accounts or our policies/procedures.
- Open new savings, checking, and certificate accounts for members.
- Assist members with IRA needs.
- Submit new and changed payroll deduction and net pay deposit requests.
- Cross-sell products and services.
- Track mortgage and auto lien filings.
- Maintain quality control of new accounts and loans.
- Image documents into efichency as necessary.
- Maintain the negative account report.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent member service skills.
- Proficiency in mathematics.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficient with computers, telephones, calculators, and other office machines.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound decision-making abilities.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to remain stationary in a sitting position 50% of the time.
- Constant operation of a computer and other office machinery such as calculators, copiers, and fax machines.
- Effective communication skills.
- Occasional lifting of items weighing 10+ lbs.
- Work primarily in an office environment with some walking around the branch
Travel:
- Limited travel, if any, is required.
