Join our award-winning communications/PR team at the Association of Equipment Manufacturers. This internship is approved for 20 hours per week through the end of the year, with potential to renew into 2025. A successful candidate will be a passionate communicator and curious problem solver who is interested in journalism, industry-relevant news, & PR messaging. This person must be organized, adaptable, and possess strong writing skills. Under the direction of the PR Director, responsibilities will include:

Media monitoring & research

  • Using CISION, monitor ongoing media initiatives to research and develop media lists for various initiatives. We will train you on this platform.

Content creation

  • Create various types of content including press releases, media advisories, talking points and media research documents.

Event support

  • Help plan and execute press events or promotional activities including coordinating creation of event materials and providing on-site support.

Research industry trends, best practices and analyze campaign results.


In addition to receiving firsthand experience working within Public Relations for a large international association, AEM provides additional training and development opportunities for interns. The program was nominated in 2023 and 2024 to be a Top Internship Program, and provides activities such as:

  • Workshops on career-pathing, networking, resume building, Microsoft Excel, and more.
  • Thorough performance review process.
  • Intern group lunches and activities.
  • Professional photoshoot.
  • Volunteering opportunities.
