We operate out of a small building in Midtown Memphis. We've been in the oil and gas business for a few years. This year we have hired 70 people since September 1. We're up to 170 employees across the country and we will be at 200 by January 31st. It's time to scale up our staff with department heads, and that's what we've been doing the last few months.

I am posting without compensation ranges because we want the right person for this job. This is a great step up from a manager to director and department head role. I want a few years of people management experience, a few more years in the implementation trenches 10 years of total experience would be great.


Are you worried with a department of 2 that you'll be resetting passwords and configuring printers all day? There's only one printer and seven work stations in the building, but we are a small company where the best person for the task is the one who gets the task....so yes, you may occaisionally reset a password if your staff is out of the office. In return, you'll get a talented and motivated staff hungry for a mentor and leader who can code and lead.


You're the head of IT too, but this is role is much more focused on building and implementing things than managing vendors, budgets, and security.

The environment is jeans and polo shirts casual. There is no private equity influence here and we intend to keep it that way. We value work-life balance and a flexible work schedule, but by default we work from the office M-F 8-5. We are flexible but prefer face to face collaboration so this is an in-office position.

Position Summary

We are seeking a leader and mentor for the newly created role of Applied Technology Director in our midstream and downstream oil and gas operations.   • Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards using monitoring systems.
  • Develop and manage budgets for technology projects while monitoring ROI.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in technology management, with a focus on midstream/downstream oil and gas operations.
  • Strong understanding of process optimization, data analytics, and operational technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with systems and tools used in operational and IT environments.
  • Preferred experience with NetSuite and other ERP systems.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide and develop staff.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with industry compliance and safety standards.
