Construction Inspector

About the Company:

Premier Finder only works with companies that put their people first. We’re looking for a motivated Construction Inspector with Public Works experience to join our client in Folsom, CA. The successful candidate will act as the Lead Inspector on Public Transportation projects, contributing to the expansion of transportation in the region.

What you’ll be doing:

• Inspect and document construction means, methods, techniques, and sequences to evaluate the contractor's compliance with the intent of the construction documents.
• Ensure construction aligns with project plans and specifications.
• Conduct detailed inspections and submit written and photographic documentation of job-related activities daily to the PM and CM team.
• Coordinate materials inspection testing and surveying.
• Perform measurement of quantities and review pay estimates submitted by the contractor to ensure payment is aligned with work performed.
• Maintain accurate, red-lined drawings during construction.
• Own the timely escalation of discrepancies requiring corrective actions to the CM and/or Owner's rep.
• Lead point of contact with the contractor to review proposed work and schedule inspections.
• Develop "Punch List" items and follow-up with corrective measures.

What you Bring:

Communication

• Excellent Interpersonal skills with a strong ability to develop relationships.
• Strong active listener with proven experience winning bids and coordinating with CM’s and Owner’s reps.
• Excellent written and computer skills to clearly document daily progress and deviations.
• Highly organized and an active problem solver.

Experience

• Licensed PE
• Background in Civil Engineering
• 3-5 years as a Public Works Inspector
• Experience in Public Transportation
• Knowledge of Caltrans and prior experience with state and federally funded projects.
• Understanding of roadways, underground utilities, and signalization.
• Preferred experience with Light Rail projects
