Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Truck Mechanic with a specialization in electrical equipment installation to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive electrical systems and experience working with a variety of truck equipment and accessories. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical components on custom work trucks.


Key Responsibilities:

- Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems and components on custom work trucks, including but not limited to lighting systems, power inverters, wiring harnesses, GPS systems, and communication equipment.

- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate diagnostic tools and techniques.

- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals to accurately complete installations and repairs.

- Ensure all electrical installations comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications.

- Collaborate with other mechanics, and fabricators to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with other truck equipment.

- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical components to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

- Document all work performed, including parts used, labor hours, and any modifications made to the original design.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in automotive electrical systems and technologies.


Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or vocational training in automotive electrical systems is highly preferred.

- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a truck mechanic with a focus on electrical equipment installation and repair.

- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, multimeters, and other electrical testing equipment.

- Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and schematics.

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with customers and team members.

- Valid driver's license; CDL is a plus.


Physical Requirements:

- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and parts.

- Comfortable working in various positions, including standing, bending, and kneeling, for extended periods.

- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to loud noises, dust, and fumes.
