As the Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager at SPX, you'll be a driving force behind our commitment to excellence. Leading a diverse team, you'll champion lean manufacturing principles across ASPEQ's facilities, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Your strategic focus on thought leadership, coaching, and implementation will be instrumental in elevating operational efficiency and productivity. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, manufacturing, quality assurance, and customer support, you'll identify technical challenges, implement design enhancements, and support product refinement. Your role will be pivotal in upholding and enhancing the quality and performance of our products in the market, while also providing technical guidance to internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:


Process Optimization and Operations:

  • Refine lean manufacturing practices across all facets of the organization to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Utilize Value Stream Mapping techniques to streamline operations.
  • Implement CI methodologies to eliminate waste and streamline processes.
  • Identify and execute projects to drive continuous improvement, including Just Do Its, Kaizen events, and projects.
  • Prioritize safety and quality throughout improvement initiatives.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with process changes.
  • Support Quality Management Systems at each manufacturing site.


Technical Support and Data Analysis:

  • Lead the Annual CI Program, aligning with SPX Business System goals.
  • Coordinate Kaizen Events from pre-work to follow-up actions, ensuring sustainable gains.
  • Coach teams in sustaining improvement methods.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify trends, root causes, and performance metrics.
  • Develop and implement key performance indicators to measure project success.


Product Manufacturing:

  • Deepen understanding of product design and manufacturing processes.
  • Provide technical assistance, training, and problem-solving support to production teams.
  • Collaborate with product-engineering managers to ensure manufacturability and standardization of products.


Projects and Continuous Improvement:

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement through SPX Business System (CI) initiatives.
  • Promote lean manufacturing concepts and practices.
  • Participate in Centers of Excellence to share best practices.
  • Ensure effective communication and alignment with cross-functional teams.
  • Integrate employee suggestions into product and process improvements.


Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education:

Required Experience:

  • Industrial Engineering Degree or Background.
  • Minimum 3 years leading CI initiatives.
  • Familiarity with SAP, JDE, Siteline, or other ERP systems.


Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 5+ years of Lean Experience.
  • Lean Certification or documented Lean Training.
  • Proficiency in change management and lean transformation.
  • Experience across multiple functional groups, preferably in leadership roles.
  • Prior experience leading/participating in 20+ Kaizen Events.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Project management experience with a track record of successful implementation.
  • Solid understanding of operational processes and data analysis techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.


Travel & Working Environment:

  • Regular travel to multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including the use of protective gear.
