About the Role / Role Summary

The Director of Information Technology will oversee the IT department, ensuring that all IT infrastructure is secure, efficient, and aligned with the company's strategic objectives. This role will use a hands-on approach to plan and implement IT initiatives, manage both the infrastructure and data service teams, and orchestrate collaboration across multiple departments. The Director of IT will report to the CIO.


Responsibilities


Strategy and Operations

  • Develop and implement IT strategies that align with business goals
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations for their integration into the company's IT infrastructure
  • Prepare and give financial analysis and strategic planning presentations to upper management
  • Develop and implement IT policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency
  • Manage IT budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with strategic goals


Leadership

  • Use strategic leadership with integration of technology, people, and processes
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the IT team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Instruct and train employees
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities
  • Make hiring and promotion decisions
  • Take disciplinary action as needed


Project Management

  • Oversee IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring they finish within time, scope, and budget constraints
  • Coordinate with other departments to understand their IT needs and provide solutions
  • Exercise wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments
  • Plan and set work priorities
  • Schedule and assign work
  • Balance work among employees
  • Outline methods and direct work in progress
  • Approve and check/inspect work


Vendor Management

  • Manage relationships with external IT vendors and service providers, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements


Support and Troubleshooting

  • Provide high-level support for IT-related issues and ensure timely resolution
  • Oversee the daily operations of the IT department, ensuring the reliable performance of all IT systems and networks


Security and Compliance

  • Ensure the security of the IT infrastructure and data, implementing best practices for cybersecurity
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, such as GDPR, HIPAA, etc.


Qualifications


Core

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, computer science, or a related field
  • 8-10 years of experience in IT management or related roles


Bonus

  • Relevant master’s degree


Other

  • Experience in overseeing IT teams and projects
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution of IT initiatives
  • Experience in optimizing processes and cross-functional collaboration
  • Well-rounded with the implementation of cloud and in-house technology platforms
  • Experience integrating acquisition(s)
  • Experience designing, implementing, and deploying technical solutions
