About the Role:
The Architectural Drafter position is an associate-level position on the construction side of our business. Reporting directly to the Director of Design & Engineering, the primary responsibility of the drafter is to support the project managers and quality assurance manager with preparation of drawings and material take-offs of our construction projects.
Tasks to fulfill these requirements may include, but are not limited to:
- Develop, submit and revise 2D shop drawings including key plan, elevations and details for jobs as well as product application.
- Prepare material cutting list.
- Obtain materials sizes and incorporate them into shop drawings to meet plans, specification and manufacturers’ standards.
- Attend engineering reviews of plans/specs.
- Work with third party design/engineering professionals to develop complete project details.
- Continue your education to develop personally and build a knowledge base of the various materials and systems we install.
- Attend company meetings as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Graduated with a two or four-year degree in Drafting or Construction Management or related field. Has relevant experience working in the construction industry. Other skill sets for this position include:
- Knowledge of drafting principals
- Software program knowledge including: Auto-CAD 2012 or higher, and Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks or similar modeling software
- Manual and computer-assisted technical drawing
- Skilled in free hand and mechanical drawings
- Excellent communication skills and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and able to work in a team environment
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and e-mail tools
- Knowledge of rainscreen systems and related façade materials
Pay range and compensation package:
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
