Process Metallurgist

Brief Description:

The Process Metallurgist is responsible for a wide variety of activities and procedures throughout our production process. This position is part of a team tasked to maximize safety, quality, and productivity at the mill.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Maintain safe and clean working environment

• Product Quality Disposition

• Identify and correct product quality problems

• Maintain and improve quality systems

• Analyze process and product data to characterize and improve product

• Collaborate with operations to implement solutions to process problems

• Investigate claims and provide feedback

• Supply technical support to sales and customers

• Communicate with other departments on quality, trials, and accomplishments

• Address department corrective and preventive actions when needed

• Maintain ISO/IATF required documents/re-certifications for the department

• Assist with inventory/mixed steel

Required:

• BS or MS Degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or equivalent
• Experience working in a mini mill or fully integrated steel mill preferred
• Experience working in the Melt Shop preferred
• OPEN to Entry level/upcoming grad candidates with Co-op or internship experience
• Excellent interpersonal communicdation skills
