Polyglass is seeking a Night Shift Industrial Maintenance Technician for our Waxo, TX facility. This position will be reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Manager and provides interface with Production. Additional reporting to Plant Manager.


Hours and Schedule: 6pm-6am / 2-2-3.


Pay: $32.48 - $36.54 per hour, plus a $2.00 shift differential + a 90-day probation completion sign on bonus.


What You Get To Do:

  • Troubleshoot and perform complex repairs to equipment, including motors and motor controls.
  • Must have working knowledge relevant to the PLC’s, motor control, sensors and other automation equipment specific to the assigned facility.
  • Seek assistance as necessary for the troubleshooting and repair of Control systems.
  • Perform advanced Root Cause Analysis to maximize equipment utilization and uptime.
  • Adhere to the Polyglass Preventative Maintenance program.
  • Maximize equipment reliability by effectively performing assigned work orders and PMs. Ensure complete and effective repairs. Proactively initiate work orders based on PM observations, measurements or PdM reports.
  • Plan and schedule daily activities. Document work completed including actions taken, conditions observed, root cause, preventative action recommendations and resources utilized including labor hours and parts. Ensure all machine repairs and/or scheduled maintenance are completed and verified and that all appropriate closing codes are used.
  • Interpret manual and computer-generated reports and suggests changes to improve the operability, reliability and safety of assets.
  • Specify replacement parts and requisition required repair parts.
  • Actively increase skill level through self-development activities to achieve Industrial Maintenance III level.
  • Coordinate operations with production, shipping, and other departments.
  • Research and source components, materials and parts as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required.


What We Are Seeking:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, plus 5 years maintenance manufacturing experience, or any equivalent combination of related training and experience.
  • Certified Electrician strongly preferred.
  • Previous metal fabrication and/or welding experience needed.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Siemens S5 and S7 PLC programming a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or similar field preferred.
