We are seeking a Change and Release Manager for a 6-month hybrid position in Charlotte, NC that could lead to full-time employment.


Responsibilities:

  • Partner with application development to ensure TOE teams are engaged in releases, and TOE needs are met with application development release processes.
  • Establish maturity of releases implemented by the TOE organization. For example, create a release calendar and expand release communications.
  • Establish and control production readiness processes for releases across technology. Partner with Technology functions to align on expectations.
  • Ensure NFRs are identified up front, considered in planning, and tracked during the release cycle. For critical requirements that are not delivered, establish a process to raise blockers and escalate.
  • Facilitate Go / No Go calls for important releases.
  • Document and communicate issues post release. Track issues to resolution. Report on issue trending and release metrics. Define release management related objectives and key results, including key performance indicator metrics. Measure progress and trending.
  • Define a RACI matrix to outline roles and responsibilities relative to Release Management.
  • Partner with Change Management and Deployment teams to ensure change, release & deployment processes are in sync and complimentary to one another.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in release preparation and execution from technology teams. Partner with those teams to drive improvement. This may include measuring teams on how well they fulfill release criteria and working with them to address shortcomings for future releases.
  • Prepare and deliver executive level summary reporting for Release Management.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience.
  • Minimum experience of 2 years working as a Release Manager, or in a role that involved managing & executing releases.
  • Experience with agile software development and/or CI-CD framework; also experience shifting an organization from a Waterfall model to an Agile model.
  • Analytical mindset and ability to grasp complex topics.
  • Understanding application and infrastructure stacks and technologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications.
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office (Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to multi-task with multiple priorities.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain positive customer and team member relationships.


Nice to Have:

  • ITIL training certification.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience as a user of the ServiceNow platform for Change or Release Management.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tooling for deployments.
  • Hands on experience deploying changes and releases.
