First Brands Group is hiring a Project Engineer to work in our FRAM brand located in Greenville OH.


The Project Engineer

Performs engineering design evaluations and works to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints. Reviews reports of production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine or address problems. Provides technical support for the engineering process. Designs, implements, and communicates, an operational plan for completing projects. Monitors progress and performance against the project plan. Takes action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays. Identifies, develops, and gathers resources necessary to complete the project. Prepares engineering designs and work specifications.


Principal activities

  • Direct the planning, budgeting, administration and implementation of capital and major engineering projects.
  • Coordinate with other departments (production, quality, materials, maintenance, etc.) and contractors.
  • Provide troubleshooting guidance and training to Maintenance and Operations departments.
  • Identify and implement cost savings and continuous improvement opportunities associated with safety, quality, productivity, etc.
  • Maintain master files of electrical, mechanical and assembly drawings.
  • Maintain work instructions for proper troubleshooting/maintaining of equipment.
  • Assist in maintaining quality system certification (ISO14001 and IATF16949).


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing or mechanical engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in project leadership in a high-speed manufacturing environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills and experience
  • Quality engineering and ISO14001 and IATF16949 familiarity
  • Self-motivated
  • Able to accel as both a leader and a follower
