Duration: 12-month contract

Job Description:

The Furniture Designer, reporting to the Lead Architect and Director of Engineering, plays a pivotal role in Lincoln Laboratory’s Facility Services Department (FSD), overseeing the Facilities Furniture Program. This program encompasses the delivery of furniture requests, managing both in-house design activities and external design services.

Responsibilities:

• Respond to customer inquiries and requests with precision and courtesy.
• Conduct space reviews, furniture selection, and design/layouts in collaboration with customers, vendors, and Planning/Design team.
• Produce coded furniture drawings and specifications for vendors, ensuring accuracy of vendor quotes.
• Supervise furniture installations in new projects, renovations, and cyclical replacements, creating punch lists and ensuring project completion.
• Coordinate with Facility shops and other departments to support changes in furnishings.
• Maintain inventory of FFE at an offsite storage facility.
• Manage cost estimating, invoicing questions, and change orders with furniture vendors to enhance customer service.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture/Interior Design or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Interior Design, including furniture design/installation management.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or REVIT; strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple facility design projects simultaneously.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with DoD Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) standards and GSA pricing/contracts.
• Experience with Bluebeam software and maintaining furniture inventory.
