BIM Technician

Benton Design Group is based out of St. Charles County, Missouri. Our small-scale firm consists of like-minded designers and architects, who specialize in multi-family housing and mixed-use project types. This is a full-time in-office job, remote work nor hybrid work will be considered.

BDG is seeking a candidate for a full-time position as a BIM Production Technician with 1-5 years of professional experience in an architectural office, to be a part of our collaborative team. Role responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, creating existing conditions in a working BIM model, work with the project team to create building permit application drawings and construction documents, and make changes to BIM models related to design changes after the commencement of construction, as applicable.

The successful candidate will be involved in all phases of architectural practice from schematic design, through completion of projects. Responsibilities and focus will be on the creation of models and construction documents in ArchiCAD. An emphasis is placed on the ability to model and layout floor plans, roof plans, building elevations and wall sections, as well as construction detailing and documentation for building permit application packages.

Candidates must have an Associate of Applied Science or comparable equivalent, or a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture. Candidates must be familiar with drafting and BIM software (proficiency is preferred), Adobe products, including Photoshop and Acrobat, and working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite. 

Qualified applicants must be able to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, be able to take handwritten field notes or work with scanned PDFs of existing properties, and create working BIM models and existing condition documents. The candidate must be driven to seek answers independently, be comfortable with verbal and written forms of communication, and a fundamental knowledge of building methods and construction details.
