Job Title: Fabrication Shop Manager


Project Types: Commercial


Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing a team of Shop Foreman and Fabricators/Welders creating structural steel, mezzanines, ladders, platforms, handrails, and more for commercial projects
  • Safely operate welding equipment and use safe work habits
  • Layout, position, align and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly using straightedges, combination squares, calipers and rulers
  • Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straight edges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications after welder job completion
  • Operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade



Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must have prior welding and fabrication experience
  • Experience with steel fabrication and structural steel
  • Supervisor/Manager experience required
  • Able to read blueprints required
  • Installation experience preferred
  • Must have knowledge of welding equipment
  • Metal fabrication experience required
  • Job shop experience preferred
  • Experience reading blueprints
  • at least 3 years of structural team fabrication shop experience
  • Must be a leader and a team player
