Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Solar Quality Assurance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and performance of solar energy systems, from installation to operation. Your main objective will be to identify, report, and help resolve issues that may affect the efficiency and safety of solar installations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspection & Testing: Conduct thorough inspections of solar installations, including panels, inverters, wiring, and other components, to ensure they meet quality standards and comply with safety regulations.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of installed solar systems, using tools and software to assess efficiency and detect potential issues.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and diagnose problems or defects in solar installations, working closely with installation teams to address and rectify any issues.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and corrective actions. Prepare reports summarizing findings and recommendations for improvements.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all solar installations comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback to the installation and engineering teams to improve the quality and efficiency of future projects.
  • Customer Interaction: Interact with customers to explain inspection results, answer questions, and provide guidance on maintaining their solar systems.
  • Safety Enforcement: Promote and enforce safety practices on-site, ensuring that all work is performed in a safe and responsible manner.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Prior experience in solar energy, electrical systems, or a related field is preferred but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.
  • Technical Skills: Basic understanding of electrical systems and familiarity with solar energy components. Ability to use testing and diagnostic tools.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong observational skills and the ability to identify and address potential quality issues.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems effectively.
  • Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and to perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders and lifting equipment.
