A great UHY client is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to join their team. The ideal candidate will have their Masters or their CPA, experience with insurance, and previous experience as a tax analyst.


The Senior Tax Analyst role is a hybrid position, with most days being remote, but a few days each month will be in office. This is a client direct hire position.


Senior Tax Analyst Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics or related field.
  • Preferred: Master's Degree in Tax or Accounting CPA designation
  • Preferred: CPA and/or Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Tax

Senior Tax Analyst Experience

  • Experience as a Tax Analyst/Sr. Tax Accountant or similar position
  • Preparing and developing tax returns
  • Using automated accounting and/or management reporting systems
  • Preparing, analyzing and interpreting in-depth analyses of financial and or statistical data
  • Model development and manipulation using Microsoft Office products
  • Overseeing and guiding assigned individual deliverables to successful completion

Senior Tax Analyst Knowledge and Skills:

  • Communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing

  • Derive actionable conclusions from analyzing data and information

  • Property and Casualty Insurance Industry and concepts
  • Premium taxes
  • Sales/use taxes
  • Property taxes
  • PeopleSoft/Workday financial reporting system
  • Knowledge of: Federal, state and local tax laws Strong stress testing skills
  • Experience in/with applying Internal Revenue Code and Regulations and State tax laws
  • Working within a corporate tax department and/or CPA firm
  • Preparing corporate and state income tax returns
  • Completing income tax work papers for income tax provisions and tax returns
  • Preparing sales and use tax returns and analyzing sales and use tax data
  • Preparing property tax returns and assisting in audits
  • Involvement in analyzing 1099 data and preparation
  • Developing spreadsheets and work papers and experience using Microsoft Office
  • Experience utilizing corporate income tax return preparation software
  • Performing tax research
