Medical Laboratory Scientist

Pride Health is currently looking candidates for Medical Lab Scientist I position in Burnet TX, 78611. This is a 6-months contract position.

Schedule: 4 x 10 2nd shift – 1:00pm-11:30pm

Pay range - MT's/MLS: $30 - $35 depending on experience and education.

MLT's: $25-$30

Responsibilities:

• Responsibilities are interchangeable within job titles of medical laboratory scientist (MLS), medical technologist or clinical laboratory scientist.
• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.

Qualifications :

At least 1 year of Generalist [coag, hem, UA etc.] with basic blood bank experience is required.

Education: BS, BSMT, or open to MLT.
