The Role:

As a Bridge Inspection Team Lead, you will play a key role in overseeing the inspection, assessment, and evaluation of bridges and other infrastructure assets across the region. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians, managing field inspections, ensuring safety standards are met, and preparing detailed reports to support decision-making for future infrastructure improvements.

You will be entrusted with the responsibility of leading a team in the performance of routine and complex bridge inspections, using advanced tools and technologies to assess structural integrity and compliance with safety regulations. Your leadership will ensure that inspections are thorough, timely, and in line with both local and national standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers and inspectors in conducting field inspections of bridges, culverts, and other structures.
  • Prepare and review inspection reports, provide recommendations for maintenance or repairs, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and contractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Oversee the collection and analysis of data related to structural health, providing insights and recommendations for long-term infrastructure planning.
  • Mentor and train junior staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering or a related field with extensive experience in bridge inspections and structural analysis. Experience with the inspection of New York State and federal infrastructure projects is highly desirable. Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in bridge inspection, structural analysis, or related fields.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local bridge inspection standards and regulations (e.g., National Bridge Inspection Standards - NBIS).
