JOB SUMMARYThe Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a senior executive responsible for managing the financial actions of the firm. This role involves overseeing the company's financial strategy, managing financial risks, and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting. The CFO works closely with the CEO and other executive team members to develop financial plans and strategies that support the company's goals and objectives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSDeveloping and implementing financial strategies to support the company's growth and profitability. Managing all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Serving as the company's executive for financial risks and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Leading the finance team and provides guidance and support to ensure the team's success. Collaborating with other departments to ensure financial alignment with the company's overall strategy, including:
Managing disbursement, and all accounting, Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting and analytical aspect of the Accounts Payable and Receivables.Leading employee compensation, and benefit programs, month-end accruals, account reconciliation, variance analysis, statutory audit and other various month-end and year end activities for multiple franchises.Processing and implemented multi-currency electronic payment to all suppliers supporting offices resulting in improved compliance and cash forecasting.Managing process changes and automation to make company disbursement and payroll processes more efficient and accurate.Establishing, documenting, and implementing policies and procedures for AP & Payroll Accounting, including controls, including audit and best practices.Implementing procedures to correct identified risk and non-compliance with annual financial and audit review processes.Managing all aspects of monthly, quarterly, and annual books closing.Conducting actual versus budget& forecast variance analysis and presenting these to executive management for review, feedback and approval.Monitoring daily store deposits for accuracy and timeliness, generates outliers report.Preparing financial reports and present findings and recommendations to top management within 10 days after closing, except P1 and P13.Reviewing all cash disbursements and their general ledger account numbers.Maximizing cash flow without jeopardizing vendor relationships or contractual obligations.Enhancing company profitability by recommending and implementing cost controls.Reviewing internal controls on a continuing basis.Ensuring timely filing and payment of state sales and payroll taxes.Monitoring and keeping the CEO updated on accounts payable and vendor payments are paid in a timely manner.Managing purchase and installation of hardware and software for the company’s computer systems.Leading and recommending processes for improving profit margins.Reporting quarterly “FCCR” (bank cash ratio) to lenders and ensure compliance.Preparing financial reports.Managing financial document preparations needed to secure loans or credit applications.
QUALIFICATIONSBachelor of Business Administration (Finance, Accounting) from an accredited college or university with five (5) or more years of financial experience.Professional certifications such as CPA (Certified public Accountant, CMA (Certified Management Accountant, or CFA (Certified Financial Analyst are highly desirable.Through knowledge of finance and accounting principles, including financial forecasting, budgeting, and risk management.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:Proficiency in NetSuite Financial Software, Microsoft ExcelExcellent inter-personal, negotiation and people management skillsFamiliarity with restaurants and food industry is preferredKnowledge of robust project management skills.Contract administration and vendor negotiations skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDSThe work is medium work which requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Work is performed in a safe and secure work environment that may periodically have unpredicted requirements or demands.
