Element6’s client is seeking a skilled Network Architect to join their team in Brookfield, WI. As a Network Architect, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess business requirements and develop strategic network solutions that align with company objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in networking technologies, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop comprehensive network architecture solutions to meet the organization's current and future requirements.
  • Evaluate existing network infrastructure and propose enhancements or upgrades to optimize performance, scalability, and security.
  • Implement and configure network hardware, software, and protocols, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs.
  • Collaborate with system administrators, security analysts, and other IT staff to ensure seamless integration of network components with other systems and applications.
  • Conduct regular network performance monitoring and analysis to identify and troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive measures to prevent downtime or performance degradation.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures, to facilitate efficient network management and troubleshooting.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in networking and make recommendations for adoption or integration into existing infrastructure.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior members of the IT team, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of third-party vendors and service providers for network-related products and services.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define network security policies, standards, and procedures, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Experience in network architecture, design, and implementation.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, DNS, DHCP, and SNMP.
  • Hands-on experience working in a VMware and Cisco environment
  • Hands-on experience with cloud solutions (Azure)
  • Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices, including firewall configuration, intrusion detection/prevention, VPNs, and encryption.
  • Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools, such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, Nagios, or PRTG.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications, such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), are a plus.
