Data Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Data Engineering and Analytics Specialist to join our team. This role requires a deep expertise in managing and optimizing SQL/PostgreSQL databases. The ideal candidate will have strong programming skills in Python, with significant experience using Django and Angular frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust database solutions to ensure seamless data flow and security across the organization.
• Design accurate and scalable prediction algorithms
• Utilize advanced analytics tools such as Power BI, PyTorch, and Apache Spark to analyze large datasets and generate actionable insights.
• Work with data visualization and BI tools such as Metabase and Spotfire to create dynamic reports and dashboards that inform strategic decisions.
• Leverage Google Analytics and other analytics platforms to monitor and report on business metrics, enhancing our understanding of key performance indicators.
• Employ AI technologies responsibly to automate processes and boost productivity, while ensuring ethical standards are met.
• Collaborate with engineering team to bring analytical prototypes to production
• Generate actionable insights for business improvements

Skills

• Proven experience in database management, with a strong command of SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Fluency in a programming language (Python, or similar), and experience with Django and Angular.
• Experience in R, Power BI, and machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
• Experience with Big Data frameworks and visualization tools
• Understanding of AI applications in a business context, with a commitment to ethical AI use.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Certifications in database management, Python programming, or analytics platforms.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across different teams.
• Experience as a full-stack developer with a strong understanding of front-end technologies and frameworks.
• Proficiency in building and maintaining WordPress websites, as well as developing custom websites from scratch.
• Ability to integrate front-end components with server-side logic and database back-end systems to create comprehensive web solutions.
• Background in oil and gas engineering, or significant experience working in the oil and gas industry, with a solid understanding of its operations, challenges, and data needs.
• Deep understanding of predictive modeling, machine-learning, clustering and classification techniques, and algorithms
• At least 1 - 2 years' of experience in quantitative analytics or data modeling
