Service Engineer

The Service Engineer is responsible for Servicing, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical assemblies and performing retrofits to existing equipment, Robotic work cells, pneumatic hardware and other components. Both, with an emphasis on quality and efficiency.

Core Proficiencies include:

  • Responds to service calls promptly, performs maintenance, retrofits and troubleshooting.
  • Assemble components and sub-assemblies according to engineering approved drawings.
  • Designs, fabricates, and modifies parts as required.
  • Perform all machine build integration support and installation tasks.
  • Perform setup and alignment of the system and subassemblies.
  • Assist the Lead Machine Builder in the debug effort.
  • Work with the project team to provide the customer with a complete and functional system during FAT.
  • Participate in tear down and shipping of equipment.
  • Travel to customers sites as required for installation and reintegration of systems.
  • Assist Lead Machine Builder with SAT activities.
  • Represent IMA Automation North America in a professional manor while at the customer's site.
  • Adhere to IMA’s health and Safety programs.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of IMA’s internal and international standards.
  • Set and maintain departmental goals in keeping with company objectives.
  • Support and participate in Quality Management Program.
  • Knowledge and adherence to ISO standards.
  • Make recommendations for quality and cost improvements.
  • Keeps abreast of current product developments.
  • Travel required.


Requirements:

  • Certificate in machining/toolmaking or equivalent work history.
  • 5+ years working as a fine tune machine assembler, or service technician for automation assembly machines.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Working knowledge of 24 v sensors.
  • Working knowledge of pneumatics.
  • Ability to travel at least 75% of the time. International travel also.
  • Must possess effective oral and written communication skills.
