Job Description:

BIM Specialist

This person will be responsible for documenting and coordinating architectural/construction/operation BIM models for Data Centers and other mission critical facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience working with large, MEPFP-heavy complex projects and be able to multi-task and collaborate with several technical disciplines. This person will be reporting to Data Center Engineering BIM Program Manager, supporting various initiatives around CAD/BIM, document/data management and relevant workflow automation initiatives.


What You’ll Do

The BIM Specialist is expected to provide both management and modeling skills in support of detailed and accurate BIM models.

The position will set the course for the digital delivery of the large and fast-moving project, working with internal and external BIM teams, engineering discipline leads and project managers.

Responsible for file and document standardization documentation.

Responsible for proper set up and maintenance of large, federated building models involving 8-15 design and engineering disciplines.

Support management of concurrent cloud-hosted projects across multiple geos and time zones, reaching multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Perform project set-ups, clash-detection and coordination between disciplines and stakeholders.

Responsible for the coordination of the models developed by the design team, trade contractors, and other third-party vendors.

Ensure accuracy of the drawings at all times through clear understanding of the project lifecycle and by leveraging CAD/BIM models.

Review record/as-built drawings and models for adherence to various internal standards, on legacy projects and active projects during handover, to facilities team to maintain for future projects.

Scope of responsibility will include overall accuracy & completeness of the models, physical & operational spatial coordination, and timely implementation and resolution of any issues according to an aggressive schedule.

Research, introduce and support the implementation of industry leading BIM technology.

Identify conflicts with Civil, Architectural, Structural and other MEPFP design elements and present strategic, process-driven and integrative solutions.


What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or Engineering such as Civil, Mechanical and Electrical, and/or evidence of exceptional experience.

6+ years of hands-on experience working with Trades on construction of high-tech infrastructure, mission critical facilities and/or operational organization of the building owner (data centers, semiconductor, solar, battery, etc.).

Proven expertise in Revit, Navisworks, Civil3D, ACC, and reality capture applications and workflows.

Expertise in interoperability between various data/file types in BIM/VDC/MCAD/CAM domains and general awareness of other BIM and parametric design applications.

Experience with scripting and/or visual programming automation tools (Dynamo and Python).

Experience interfacing with construction team on scheduling, cost estimates, quantity takeoffs and alignment between Work Breakdown Structure based cost tracking and BIM parameters
