HVAC Sales/Account Manager - Commercial Construction


J.R. Hobbs, a leading mechanical contractor, specializes in designing, managing, and installing HVAC systems for multi-family and commercial new construction projects. With over 100 active construction projects in nine states across the Southeast, Hobbs has been a construction and mechanical services industry leader for more than 50 years.


Role Summary:

- Seeking a driven and motivated professional for inside sales, account management, and business development who can engage with customers throughout the construction bidding process.

- Foster and develop customer relationships as the account management representative.

- Identify and develop business development opportunities for the Hobbs organization.

- Serve as a post-job-award resource/account manager for the Preconstruction, Project Management, and Operations teams to address questions about awarded bid content and foster client relations.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the Commercial Sales team responsible for bidding and securing work in line with our annual plan.

2. Prepare and assist in preparing estimates and sales proposals for projects, ensuring the department's continuity. Estimate and oversee projects to contribute to revenue and profitability.

3. Must be able to read blueprints and construction schematics.

4. Oversee the estimating process for the Commercial division, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely bids.

5. Collaborate with the Commercial Operations Manager to develop market strategies.

6. Execute market strategies to achieve bid volume and win rates, making adjustments as necessary.

7. Develop customer relationships and sourcing strategies to support business development initiatives.

8. Formulate and execute Key Account plans to ensure repeat business with preferred customers.

9. Participate in the annual planning process and develop sales forecasts for annual budgets.

10. Provide bid status updates and formulate strategies to win deals.
